Point & Counterpoint

Join SECCA as we dedicate our fall season to celebrating North Carolina artists and present the North Carolina Arts Council Fellows of 2014-2015.This exhibition captures the originality, energy and excellence of this vibrant group of eighteen artists working across media and breaking new ground. Point and Counterpoint draws on thematic currents, dynamic differences and connections in their work.

The exhibition features ten visual artists, four craft artists, two film/video artists, and two choreographers selected for the 2014-2015 awards.

Make and activate artworks with artists Maready Evergreen (The Long Road), Stacey L. Kirby (Power of the Ballot) and Jeana Eve Klein (French Knots).
Maready Evergreen's installation, The Long Road, her most recent imagined society, reflects our own. Meet the artist and interact with the ceramic citizens as we consider the demands of democracy.
Jeana Eve Klein will be teaching a small group of people the art of creating the French Knot. Join us as we observe these lessons and consider through them the value of art.
Cast your vote with artist Stacey L. Kirby. Through her Power of the Ballot installation, Kirby advocates for political awareness and voter participation.
