Art in the Park: Botanical Gelli Prints

Join us for a hands-on printmaking workshop where plants and nature inspire the creative process.

Learn to use Gelli plates and a variety of botanical materials—such as leaves, flowers, and grasses—to create layered, one-of-a-kind prints. This all-ages, drop-in creative session encourages experimentation with color, texture, and composition while exploring the beauty of natural forms. No experience is needed, just curiosity and a love for nature-inspired art. Materials are provided and all ages and skill levels are welcome.

Emily Clare

Emily Clare is a visual artist from Cookeville, TN, who now lives and works in Winston-Salem, NC. She has exhibited work in regional, national, and international exhibitions; most recently, a solo show at Central Gallery at Revolution Mill in Greensboro, NC. Her work is included in corporate and private collections, and she is a co-founder of the Ardmore Art Walk in Winston-Salem. Clare had two artist residencies in 2024, at Norman Bird Sanctuary in Newport, RI, and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Amherst, VA.

“Spending time outdoors and surveying flora and fauna is a practice in mindfulness, a meditative space that breaks from the disruptions of the everyday. Printing the landscape has the same effect—a restorative, recentering undertaking that encourages presence and grounding.
