NCMA Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA) hosts and presents a diverse array of innovative educational, artistic, performance, and social programs throughout the year. With programs for children, teens and adults, we invite visitors to explore and reflect on contemporary art and culture.

Exhibitions

NCMA Winston-Salem champions regional and international artists, exemplifying global connections over the past fifty years. We pride ourselves on producing bold, thought-provoking exhibitions guided and motivated by the current climate. Through this work, we aim to challenge how people define and engage art across experience, time, and place.

NITE SCHOOL

Nite School puts a unique spin on adult continuing education by reimagining both form and content. Visitors will find an eclectic mix of interactive experiences designed and mediated by accomplished artists, scholars, and creators. There are no lectures, PowerPoints, tests or grades. Experiences promote knowledge sharing and idea generation.

FAMILY

Come experience contemporary art at NCMA Winston-Salem as a family. Our family programs are led by educators and artists, and provide opportunities for families to discover contemporary art together through play, creative art making, and family-oriented gallery tours and experiences.

MUSIC

As a cultural hub celebrating the contemporary arts, NCMA Winston-Salem presents a wide range of emerging and established musical performers spanning numerous genres across long-running concert series. Explore upcoming events for an unforgettable concert experience.

HANES HOUSE

Nestled on the scenic museum grounds stands a 1929 English-style mansion that once belonged to James G. Hanes. Built as the country home of the textile industrialist and civic leader, the Hanes House became the unlikely home of NCMA Winston-Salem when Hanes bequeathed the house upon his passing in 1972.

COMMUNITY

Our relationships with our partners drive much of our programming. As a contemporary arts center, these collaborations with community, state and national organizations make our programs richer because together we highlight the issues of our time in meaningful ways through a variety of art forms.
