ART CRUSH: Color the District

7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Overview

Kick off summer with creativity, community, and a bold preview of PRIDE 🌈

Paint the pavement and celebrate in full color at the first ART CRUSH event of 2026. Support local artist vendors, take part in creative activities for kids and adults, and enjoy live music by Bruise Wheel and IyeRoot and DJ sets by MikRo.wav and Sinn. ART CRUSH takes place in the Arts District of downtown Winston-Salem, with music performances taking place near the intersection of Sixth St. and Trade St.

Taking the stage from 7:45–8:30 pm, BRUISE WHEEL is an unapologetically queer, community-focused DIY punk-type project based in Greensboro, NC. Known throughout over two cities for being loud, sad, angry and raw, this special Bruise Wheel Lite set will feature Lavender Alexander on Lazarus, their modded ukulele, and Molly Moon on their guitar, Sin.

Greensboro-based band IYEROOT will take the stage from 8:45–9:45. IyeRoot delivers a captivating fusion of genres. Their sound, a rich tapestry of rap, R&B, reggae, rock, and classic influences, is as diverse as their members. Seamlessly blending into a unique sonic experience, IyeRoot’s music resonates with self-affirmative reflection and growth, grounded by the ancestral lineage that flows through their veins.

ART CRUSH is a creative block party that highlights the Arts District Businesses and local creatives that reside in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas. All are welcome to celebrate the arts at this free, community event.
